EcoTools Foundation Brush Review

Showed this baby in a haul a little while back, so thought I should update you guys and let you know how I'm getting on with it! It's taken me a little longer than expected to get the review up, only because I first loved this, then hated it, now I love it again so I wanted to make sure I had used it enough to review it!

Having only ever applied foundation with a sponge or my fingers, I knew it was time to try out a foundation brush. I went to Boots and chose this one as it seemed good quality and was reasonably priced. The bristles are very soft and uniform, and once washed, the brush drys in the same shape and it still soft to use.

When I first used this with a fairly light coverage foundation (L'oreal True Match) I loved how this brush applied my makeup and the finish it left me with. However, I then used it with my 'heavy' coverage foundation (Revlon Colorstay) and hated the way it applied as it was streaky and uneven. Having had a bad experience I left the brush alone for a week or so before trying it again.

However, I'm glad that I tried it again with my Revlon colorstay as I realised that using less product on the brush gives a more even finish and also means that I don't use as much product as I do when using my sponge or my fingers, yay!

Overall, I do like this brush however I still prefer to use a sponge with my heavier foundation as it gives a better, slightly softer finish (in my opinion). However I still use this brush when I apply a light foundation or BB cream.

Also, I want to invest in other face brushes for me to try, any recommendations would be great - I hear Real Techniques do great brushes :)

Thanks for reading!!
xoxo

You can buy this brush from Boots for £7.99
Bought with my own money.

  1. I would 100% recommend real techniques buffing brush. You can only get it in the core collection but the other brushes in the collection are great! The buffing brush is amazing for foundation as it just buffs it in so nicely and your left with a flawless even coverage! I find it works well for light and thick foundations :) I have just found your blog through BBU blog hop and I love it x
