September Favourites

Hiya lovelies!

Here are my September favourites, in all their glory, for you to see :)

Left to right, top to bottom:

  • Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover - although it does take longer than '1 second' as advertised, I do really like removing my nail polish using this! It does get the polish off quicker than using cotton wool and normal remover, and leaves my fingers smelling nice :) I know there's a Poundland dupe for this, so will be on the lookout for that!
  • Estee Lauder 'Pleasures Bloom' perfume - More of a Summery fragrance, but I've really been enjoying this one this month! It's really light, floral and feminine and is perfect for everyday wear.
  • Maybelline Colour Tattoo in 'Eternal Gold'
  • Real Techniques Buffing Brush (Core Collection) - my new favourite foundation brush! Ever since I got this, I've been using it everyday and love it! It applies both my Revlon Colorstay and my Garnier BB cream amazingly :)
  • Real Techniques Base Shadow and Deluxe Crease Brush (Starter Set) - I love all the brushes in the Starter Set but these are my favourite, they work so well together and I've been using them everyday since I got them!
  • Maybelline Mono Eyeshadow in 'Chocolate Chic' - a rediscovered product that has become my go-to crease colour for any neutral eye look! I even reach for this over some of the shades in my Coastal Scents palettes! It's soft, pigmented and easy to blend and doesn't crease when using a primer or cream base (it does on its own though, like most eyeshadows!)
  • Estee Lauder Lash Primer Plus - I got this sample size when I bought my moisturiser and I've been loving this! It creates an excellent base for my mascara and allows me to create the same volume as I usually do with just normal mascara but using less of the product. If it wasn't so expensive I would probably buy the full size, so I just need to use this sparingly and wait for Christmas!
  • Estee Lauder Lipgloss in 'Simply Pink' - another sample I got when I bought my moisturiser and this is the cutest lipgloss ever! It's got no shimmers in (which I think makes it more wearable), and is just the perfect everyday shiny pink - love it :)

Real Techniques Core Collection

Hiya lovelies!

So after many recommendations, I finally caved and bought the Core Collection (and Starter Set - review up soon!) by Real Techniques. I've been using them for just over a week, so thought I'd share my opinions with you guys :)

First of all, as soon as they arrived I was SO excited to use them! I took them out the packaging (before taking photos - bad beauty blogger!!) and they felt so so soft and just amazing.

First of all, I love the case/stand that the brushes came with, it makes them so easy to travel with and using the case as a stand makes them look very professional on my dresser!

The set comes with 4 brushes, a buffing brush, a detailer brush, a small pointed foundation brush and a contour brush.

Buffing Brush

First of all, this brush completely lived up to the hype set by beauty bloggers and has quickly become my new favourite foundation brush! It applies my foundation like a dream and gives a great natural finish. It also works with my BB cream, as well as my Revlon Colourstay foundation. Amazing brush, worth buying the whole set for!

Detailer Brush

I've been using this little brush to conceal my blemishes and small areas of red-ness. According to the box this could also be used as a lip brush, although I'm yet to try that!

Pointed Foundation Brush

I don't use this brush for foundation, as I love the buffing brush so much and this brush is a little small, however it is a great size for blending concealer under my eyes and covering red-ness around my nose and mouth.

Contour Brush

This is the perfect sized contour brush! It fits perfectly in the hollows of my cheeks to slim down the appearance of my face using my favourite bronzer. It's also great for contouring around my forehead and neckline. As this brush is quite fluffy, the colour applied is well blended and not streaky! Great brush :)

Overall...

I've experienced no shedding of the bristles of these brushes, and they washed perfectly - remaining as soft as new! They're also very lightweight which makes them easy to use.

I also love that these brushes are synthetic and cruelty free, a big advantage in my opinion :)

My favourite brushes in the set are definitely the buffing brush and contour brush, however they all have uses in my makeup routine!

Overall, I love all of these brushes and I'm so glad I bought them, they're completely worth the money and I hope they will last me a long time! I am already looking into expanding my collection with the powder brush and blush brush.

Thanks for reading! Have you tried Real Techniques brushes? What are your favourite brushes?

You can buy these brushes for £21.99 from Boots, in store or online.

Bought with my own money.

Holiday Haul: Sephora and H&M

Hiya lovelies!

I recently got back from my family holiday (travelling around France, north Italy, and Switzerland), and thought I'd show you what I purchased when I was in Turin! We didn't have that much time, which is why I only managed to go into two big stores and also, most of the little shops shut during the middle of the day so only the bigger stores were open.

I got some things from H&M, which I'm sure can be purchased in the UK, and a couple of bits from Sephora which can also be bought in the UK but from department stores as we don't have Sephora :( If we did, I'd be so broke though haha! I nearly died in Sephora, it was so pretty :)

Anywayyyy, on with the haul!

SEPHORA:

Benefit POREfessional Primer

After falling in LOVE with this product when I picked up a sample size in Glamour magazine a couple of months back, I had to have the full size. This stuff is AMAZING, I don't know how I ever lived without it! It instantly smooths out my skin and makes it look flawless and creates an excellent base for foundation. It also leaves my skin feeling so soft and improves the staying power of my foundation. It's honestly worth the money!

Lily by Stella McCartney, Eau de Parfum

I have been looking for a new fragrance for a while as the one I currently have for 'everyday/light' use is nearly finished. I originally had my eye on Miss Dior Cherie however, I couldn't find it anywhere? I found the normal Miss Dior but it doesn't smell the same at all :/ anyway as soon as I smelt this one, I knew I had to have it. Its the perfect light fragrance, that could be worn everyday or on special occasions. I'm so rubbish at describing fragrances so if you get the chance, smell this! It's not overpowering at all and I love it :)

Essie 'Cute As A Button' Nail Lacquer

This is a product I've had my eye on for a while, and I'm so glad I bought it! Even though it's pricey compared to other drug-store nail polishes, I think its worth it as the formula is flawless and the colour is absolutely perfect. I would definitely buy more Essie nail polishes :)

H&M:

Isn't this adorable? It just a simple little vest top, made with lightweight comfy material that's just perfect for comfy wear or could be dressed up. And it wasn't expensive wooo :)

I love this! I wore this and the vest top above in my previous FOTN and I love them together :) This is such a pretty lacy pattern and can smarten up simple vest tops for nights out or be worn casually!

I love the collar on this blouse! This is lovely worn open or closed with a black vest top underneath and like the other clothing items, can be worn casually or made smarter in the evening :)

Another vest top - similar to the other one haha but I still love it, it's really easy to wear and it fits perfectly and has lovely lightweight material :) a wardrobe must have really!

That's it! What have you guys been buying recently?

Makeup Products I Regret Buying

I was in two minds whether to write this post as it seems depressing,  but thought it may be of some use to people if I shared with you the makeup products that I wish I never bought.

Maybelline Eye Studio Mono Eye-shadow in Fatal Violet

This eyeshadow just has the poorest pigmentation EVER, it looks completely different in the pan to what it does swatched and I was just so disappointed when I got this home and tried to use it :(

Attempting a swatch :(

Most the product was left on my fingers :(

The Colour Works Bronzer

Luckily, this was a gift in a bronzing set so I didn't actually but this but as I don't use it, I figured I may as well talk about it. This is by far the most shimmery bronzer EVER and it just looks ridiculous on because of the shimmers!

Shimmer overboard

LOOK AT THE SHIMMER!

Swatched.
Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick in Iced Caramel

I used to use this, but since discovering other lipsticks I've realised this really isn't the shade for me - it's way to brown toned and the formula is not as nice as it could be so I don't get as much wear out of it now.

Maybelline Expression Kajal Eye Pencil in White

Sorry Maybelline! I bought this to go in my waterline and open up my eyes but this pencil is so scratchy and unblendable it just looks ridiculous when applied in my waterline! It also clumps in my lashes so I end up with white lumps in my lower lashes :(

Collection (2000) Idol Eyes Eye Shimmer Crayon in Ice Queen

I'm aware that Collection have recently re-vamped their products so this probably isn't on sale anymore but if it is DON'T BUY IT! It took ages of me really rubbing on my skin to get a swatch to show, the pigmentation is just so poor! I can't imagine putting this on my eyes and having to rub as hard as I did on my hand to get the colour to show - just ouch :/

Maybelline Cream Gloss in Clearly Clear

I promise I have nothing against Maybelline as a brand, I'm sorry the majority of these products were from them! I have nothing against the formula of this lip gloss, I just never wear is so regret spending the money!

Thanks for reading - what do you regret buying?

Last Friday I had a girly night with my Aunt which consisted of food at Prezzo then watching films and drinking fizzy wine! But anyway, this is what I did to my face. I'm sorry if this is too similar to my previous FOTD look, I'm a sucker for neutral eye shadows, but I think this is slightly more smokey, not sure the camera really picked it up though :/

Recent Buys/Gifts

Just some things I've picked up lately from Superdrug and Tesco, with some Estee Lauder goodies thrown in which my Aunt gave me as she didn't want them!

Picked up these two face masks from Superdrug for 99p each, they're both aimed at oily skin and include many of the same ingrediants however I did want to compare them! I've used the second one and really liked it, will use the other one next week I think :)

Bit boring, but needed a new conditioner as I'm nearly out of my Tres Emme colour protect one so decided to give Herbal Essences a try again as I love the way their shampoos and conditioners smell!

Bless my mum, she picked up a copy of Glamour for me without realising I already had it (twice, actually, for the freebies!) but got a different freebie from the Balance Me range, so excited to try this out as I've nearly used up my Estee Lauder face wash.

When I saw the Impulse body sprays on offer in Superdrug, I decided to pick one up mainly because in the summer, I love freshening up by spraying a scent and I'm nearly all out of my day to day perfume so figured this would be a cheaper option for the summer and so far I really like it :)

Another boring buy, but I needed a new shower wash and thought this looked nice :) It smells lovely, I can't wait to use it!

This was on my beauty wishlist and when I was in Superdrug I had to pick it up and so far, I like it! I got it in the lightest shade which seems to match me fine and it just makes a nice change from foundation. Expect a full review soon :)

This is the first Estee Lauder goodie and I'll admit now, I absolutely love it! It's one of their Pure Color lipglosses in the shade Rock Candy and it's lovely. I love the scent, and the formula is not too sticky which is good :)

The only lip pencil I have in a bright pink so I was happy to accept this nudey brown lip pencil in Spice! It's a Double Wear formula product so should have decent staying power - will keep you posted on how I get on with this!

Swatches of the lip pencil and the lip gloss :)

My Aunt also gave me this eyeshadow palette from Estee Lauder which is not available for sale so it doesn't have a name or anything and I haven't tried it yet but I really like the look of some of the eye shadows mainly the more neutral colours!

Thanks for reading! What have you been buying lately?
xoxo

All items purchased by me except the Estee Lauder products which were given as a sample to a family member then passed on to me.
